Blizzard

Here's what our street looked like after the blizzard we had a few weeks ago.Do you see the cars parallel parked on the street??

No, No

I know, it's time to update... I'll hopefully get around to pictures soon. Nathan has been saying "no, no" for a while now. He brings us his favorite book to read. On the 3rd page, the words are "No, no. That isn't right". Before we even turn the page for those words to come up, Nathan says "no, no!".

He's also having conversations now. They go something like this:

Harmony: Nathan, it's time to change your diaper.
Nathan: No, no, no, no!

Upon grabbing toys from Mathew's hands...
Matthew: No, no...
Nathan: No, no...
Matthew: No, no...
Nathan: No, no...

He also has conversations with himself. When he's trying to get something that's out of his reach or that he knows he's not allowed to have, he says "no, no" to himself - or maybe to me to let me know that he REALLY wants it!

Michigan

Our trip to Michigan was complete with a day at an indoor water park and a day of sledding, including a ride on a horse drawn sled! Nathan really liked the water spouts and the waves. He didn't really care about sledding. (I don't think he likes wearing his snowsuit!)

Christmas (in reverse order)

I am so thankful that Briant was home for Christmas once again this year! Thanks to him having strep throat and not being able to work! (Last year he was home because his flights got canceled due to bad weather.) I wonder what it will be next year :)

We had a hard week last week with Briant being sick and Nathan also having a sinus infection. Briant is now better. Nathan is still kind of a pill but he was healthy enough to enjoy his first Christmas! Heather cooked a great meal for us and the adults were even able to play a game in the afternoon.

What can Nathan do?

Nathan turned 8 months yesterday! He can push up on all fours to play or go into a sitting position. However, when he wants to move, he goes back down to do his own version of the "army crawl". He knows it's harder to army crawl on the carpet so he'll sometimes try to go around it to get to what he wants. I have a feeling he's going to skip regular crawling as he keeps trying to pull up on things. He seems to like to stand quite a bit.

He is eating all kinds of things and tried yogurt for the first time this morning. He loves the bath, his little basketball, and opening and closing cabinets and drawers. He's still a terrible napper but a good night sleeper. He's also still really ticklish and smiley. :)
